Reyhaneh Ameri was a beautiful 22-year-old woman with her entire life ahead of her. Reyhaneh lived with her parents in Kerman, which is Iran’s largest province. Tragically, one day her life was cut short after his father decided to murder her over the most trivial offense brutally. According to her father, he committed an “honor killing” after his daughter committed the unforgivable offense of coming home a few minutes past her curfew. She walked through the door around 11:30 p.m. that night and would never come out of that home alive. Her father became enraged and beat Reyhaneh with an iron pipe. He beat his child so severely that she never recovered.
Although his daughter was still alive after the attack, her father didn’t bother calling for medical attention. Instead, he would allow her to suffer for at least 24 hours as she bled to death. Her sister says that she went to her parents’ house the next morning just before 9 a.m. When no one answered the door, she let herself in, and what she found shocked her. The house was in total disarray. So she decided to stay and wait for her parents to return. Her father was the first to walk in but soon left in a hurry after becoming suspicious that his daughter may have figured out what really happened. After her mother returned, they went up to Reyhaneh’s room, where they discovered what looked to be a scene from a horror movie.

They found Rehaneh’s clothes, soaked in blood, along with blood splashed across the walls. After police arrived at the home, they followed the trail of blood from the young woman’s room all the way to her dad’s vehicle. Before he could escape the area, the police managed to track down his phone and found him hiding in a nearby village. They placed him under arrest; however, at first, the man denied knowing his daughter’s whereabouts or what happened to her. Police would search until about midnight that day when her father finally confessed to his crime.

Not only did he confess, but he is said to have proudly admitted to the “honor killing” of his daughter and lead police to an area of the city where he had dumped her body. However, police say that the young woman was likely still alive until around two hours before they found her.
