There are many breeds of dogs and for some people, it is not about the breed but rather, it is about the animal. Unfortunately, certain breeds of dog have received some negative press and in some cases, people may fear those dogs because of what they see on the news and the negativity that seems to spread about them. This was clearly seen when Tia Torres became a spokesperson for pit bulls on her Animal Planet hit show, Pit Bulls and Parolees. Tia acts rather tough but underneath it all, she has a heart of gold.
On her show, ex-convicts are followed through life from the time they are released from prison and paired up with pit bulls who are homeless and unwanted. According to Tia, those two characters may be controversial but they are not judgmental of each other. They actually serve to teach each other compassion and many other life skills, such as love and responsibility.
Tia stopped by the Ellen show with Snorkie, one of her pits. He was in need of a home and from Ellen’s reaction as well as the reaction of the audience, you can tell that he was not homeless for very long.
