Faithful Dog Protects Young Girl Even After Being Shot Twice In The Leg

I don’t know about you, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make sure my dog is happy and comfortable. There are many reasons why I’m willing to go to those lengths, but much of it has to do with the fact that those animals have my best interest in mind as well. After all, they are there for me after I’ve had a difficult day, and if I am down in the dumps, they are the first ones there to make sure I’m smiling again. Perhaps that is why we aren’t surprised when we hear about a dog becoming a hero.

This story comes from South Fulton, Georgia, but you don’t have to be from the deep south to appreciate what this little dog did for her owner. About three in the afternoon, two thieves were trying to break into Dion Ewing’s home and they were armed. Someone had gotten too close to the door and their door cam sent out a warning to the little girl who was home alone with the family dog. Ewing said: “My niece got an alert on her phone, um, about somebody approaching.”

It took some time but the two men were eventually able to gain access to the home. They had to kick the door a few times but once it came open, they started to threaten the little girl. They said they were going to shoot her but they decided to shoot the dog, Starla, first. When they took two shots at Starla, the little girl was able to escape but the men chased her.

The men may have been chasing the girl but the dog was chasing them. Even though the pooch had been shot, she was giving chase and the robbers decided to run away. In the end, Starla was willing to give her life for that little girl. She is recovering and we wish them all well after such a horrible ordeal.
