He Wants To Go Sledding But His Grandmother Can’t Stop Laughing When She Sees All The Horses

Although children may love the summer weather and running around in their bare feet, they also get excited when it turns cold outside and the snow starts to fall. They may be getting excited because of the possibility of no school but it is also the thought of sledding that puts a smile on their faces. That was what the children were thinking at the Whitetail Farm in southern Maryland. They had a blanket of fresh snow on the ground and everything was set for a fun day outside.

One unique feature of Whitetail Farm are the miniature horses. There are more than 100 acres that allow these horses to roam about freely. If you have ever visited Southern Maryland, you know that it is a hilly area so there is bound to be a great place to sled on the property. Marlene and Holly raise the miniature horses on the farm and Holly’s children love the fact that they grow up on a farm as well.

After it had snowed, it was time for the sleds to be brought out on this winter day. The kids got ready with snow pants, boots, and a smile. There was only one problem.

The same pasture that the kids were going to use for sledding was also where about a dozen yearlings were hanging out. Perhaps they just wanted to join in on a fun afternoon! The grandmother recorded her grandson and the horses and ended up with something she will never forget.

The yearlings were ready to play and they were following her grandson everywhere he went. It seemed as if they were a little nervous when he grabbed his sled but they were still sticking close.

The grandmother even shouts that they are playing ‘follow the leader’. It certainly seems as if they are having a lot of fun in the snow.

These horses are not yet full-grown. They are yearlings, so they are also children out playing in a snowy field. It’s a lot of fun to watch them galloping around.

You can see Holly off to the side at one point in the video, surrounded by a number of these miniature horses. She isn’t sure about getting on the sled with all of them around her.

In the end, the horses just want to join in the fun. You can join in on the fun as well by watching this snow filled video:
