Terrified Shelter Dog Can’t Contain His Excitement As He Is Being Adopted

Think back to the time when you were a child and your family was getting ready for a big event. Perhaps it was summertime and the children were off school so your mom and dad decided it was the perfect time for a vacation. The problem is, they come up with the idea in advance for the vacation, do all of the planning and let you know a few weeks in advance. That is where the problem comes in, you can’t help but be excited about the possibility but when it actually happens, your excitement finally reaches the ultimate height.

Apparently, it is not only people who experience that level of excitement but it is also animals as well. You can see it very clearly in this little shelter dog, named Benny. He had been living at the shelter and perhaps he was a little nervous that he would be in there permanently. He would watch strangers walk by, ignoring him as he sat there and craved the attention that they could provide. He was healthy and a very kind animal but unfortunately, he was having a difficulty finding a forever home. In fact, he was at the Carson Animal Care Center for a very long time. In dog years, it may have felt like forever.

This rescue, located in California is a high kill shelter. It is a very sad situation for dogs, such as Benny, who are having a difficulty getting adopted. They are on a limited timeframe but Benny’s fortune was about to change. One day, a volunteer came to his kennel and brought him out. Benny was finally going to his forever home.

At first, Benny didn’t know what to think and he cowered in his kennel for just a little while.

When Betty actually realized what was happening, however, he began slowly walking toward the shelter employee. They put him on a lead and walked him out of his kennel.

As soon as he hit the edge of the kennel, it is almost as if a transformation took over. This pup, who was once shy and withdrawn, began bouncing off the walls with excitement. It was almost as if he couldn’t believe that something so great was happening to him.

Finally, it was his final day in the shelter and his forever family was waiting, just down the hall.

Betty was having a hard time containing his excitement and he was jumping around the employee who was walking into his forever family. He was even running up to other kennels as if to let them know, all hope is not lost.
