I’m sure that there are still a few of us from here that can think back to the time when they saw the original Rocky movies at the movie theater. Yes, we know that Stallone is still around and making movies but then again, the originals were something to be seen. Not only did we have Rocky exercising to some pretty awesome music and fighting in the ring, we also had some Turtles that were not to be forgotten.
That’s right, there were some tiny turtles living in a fishbowl and you get to see them in the original Rocky movie. Those turtles are still around and believe it or not, they are full grown 44 years old! They are living large with Sylvester Stallone and their names are Link and Cuff. They got famous by being in one of the Rocky movies but after the movie was over, Sylvester Stallone decided to adopt them.
It’s a matter of life imitating art. They were his turtles. Now, they are living in his home.
Rocky Balboa would sometimes make a trip into the J&M Tropical Fish pet store so he could get some items to keep his two pet turtles, Cuff and Link happy. He also had a romance building with Adrian and she was working at the shop.
He would sometimes use the turtles as an excuse to go and see Adrian. It wasn’t long before they started to bond and grow into something that was even bigger than the pet shop. That amazing romance has everything to do with those turtles. They opened the door and Rocky walked right through.
Without the turtles, the movie would have been a lot less iconic.
Most people don’t remember the turtles but they were a big part of the flick when you really stop to think about it.
Cuff and Link have lived a long life with their friend, Sylvester Stallone. They are also still actors.
They were in Creed II, filmed in 2018.
Sly uploaded a picture of himself with the turtles to Instagram, saying:
“In CREED 2 with my original buddies from the first Rocky … CUFF and LINK, now about 44 years old!”
Now that the news is out about these two Turtles, the Internet is in love. The fans came forward and were so happy that the turtles were still alive and living big in the Stallone household.
