Boy Choir Sounds Amazing Singing A George David Weiss Song – ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’

There have been many songs over the years that we could probably sing by heart. Some of them are by our favorite band and others may be songs that are from decades ago. One of the songs that I’m sure we all know is by George David Weiss, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. It is just one of those songs that has been played so many times that we know it by heart and we may even know a version of it that was performed as a parody. Professional bands have done the song over and over again as well as many amateurs and if you do a search online, you will find that there are more performances of this song than many others.

In the video that you see below, it is being performed by a boys’ choir and they do an excellent job with every part. From the opening lines that we are all so familiar with to the harmonizing, they just put so much into the music. They also have it choreographed, and each of them are moving in unison to make it a lot more entertaining. Of course, it also helps that they are all dressed in black with red bowties, which is a nice touch in my opinion. At the very heart of it, however, is a song that we have all come to know and love and I’m sure that we will hear it many more times in our lives.

Most people don’t realize that George David Weiss was not the person who originally came up with the song. It was actually done much earlier in the 20th century but he re-do it and the lyrics were redone as well. It then became quite popular and continues to be popular decades later.

There are very few songs that are of the same caliber as “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. It may not be 100% up to today’s standards of music, but it is still extremely entertaining to hear and see.
