Talkshows have always been a big part of our lives. In the olden days, we could watch Johnny Carson or David Letterman, and each of them seemed to try to outdo the other four ratings and just as a type of (sometimes) friendly competition. We also had the talkshows that were on during the day and these were considered secondary to the ones on in the evening, although they had some interesting things to offer as well. Today, we enjoy talkshows on an entirely different level. The late-night talk shows are off the charts when it comes to the celebrity performances and interviews, and even those that are on during the day have stepped up their game.
This includes Ellen, who welcomes a lot of interesting people onto her talkshow. Like many of the other talkshow hosts, she does more than simply interview them and ask them interesting questions. She also gets them involved in some way or another in a skit that is designed to make all of us enjoy the show even more. Fortunately, she is a very creative individual and she puts on a show unlike any other. It included the time that she had Bruno Mars on the show and she did her famous hidden camera prank. A microphone was put in Bruno Mars’ ear and then a nurse was sent into his waiting room. It was a medical session that she is not going to forget for a very long time!
Ellen continues to give Bruno Mars instructions on what he should do and what he should say. Of course, the nurse has no idea that it is going on and Bruno is excellent at following those instructions to the letter. He even keeps a straight face, which is incredible when you stop to think about all that is going on.
Although Bruno Mars is able to keep a straight face, we can’t say the same for Ellen. She sits in the studio and gives those instructions and by the time it is over, the nurse is doing all that she can to keep it together. It’s an excellent combination of acting, singing and comedy.
