James Corden Modernizes ‘I Got You Babe (Bae)’ And Cher Is There To Sing It With Him

When it comes to popular singers, we have more that have crossed our paths then we could ever possibly name. Some of them come and go rather quickly but others have been around for longer than most of us remember. That is the case with Cher, and she has been on the scene for more than six decades performing and entertaining every step of the way. In fact, what many people don’t know is that Cher has been influential and has had some extremely popular songs in every one of the six decades that she has been active! It will be interesting to see if she is able to make it to decade number seven.

Although many of us may not remember, Cher was actually part of the team at one point that involved her husband, Sonny Bono. The two of them even had the Sonny and Cher television show and they would entertain an audience every week on that variety show. One of the things that they did that was really touching is to sing a duet, and it’s one that most of us could probably sing by heart. It is “I Got You Babe” and when we hear it, we might instantly think about that pair. Interestingly, Cher decided that she wouldn’t perform that song in concert a while back but it didn’t stop her from doing something with James Corden when she was on the Late Late Show.

James welcomed her onto the show to perform that hit from 1965. He didn’t want to be a substitute for Sonny Bono, however, he wanted to modernize the lyrics so he made it “I Got You Bae”. It’s absolutely hilarious to watch them performing in the following video. Honestly, I think James wearing the wig is over the top.

Cher is always going to be somebody that wins our hearts and she can still perform like she did when she was in her 20s. I don’t know how much longer she’ll be around to perform like this, but as long as she’s going to do it, I’m going to love every minute!
