The Internet certainly has changed the way that many of us live our lives. We usually spend our days online, watching videos rather than watching TV and perhaps even doing all of our shopping online as well. There is something else about the Internet, however, that has really taken the world by storm. I’m talking about social media and if you aren’t sharing pictures of your daily life on Facebook or Instagram, it is likely that you know plenty of people who are doing it.
Instagram is a platform where people can share pictures and some take advantage of it to the extreme. You will find daily pictures, known as selfies, where people are just trying to show how nice they can look or perhaps how beautiful their surroundings are. This has also created somewhat of a phenomenon that is sometimes known as social media envy. You see somebody else’s picture on Instagram and all of the comments that go along with it and before you know it, you are trying to do one better.
There is no doubt that Instagram models do quite well financially and the comments that they get for every picture are no doubt a shot to the ego. There are now many young women (and some older women as well) who are trying to share pictures and get some comments flowing in their direction in much the same way.
