105-Year-Old Man Visits 100-Year-Old Wife IN The Hospital On Their 80th Wedding Anniversary

What is the oldest married couple that you know? Most of us are willing to celebrate any wedding anniversary but we place special emphasis on long-term marriages that may go 20, 30 or 50 years. It certainly is an accomplishment but for Arthur and Maria Jacobs, 50 years is only a drop in the bucket. They recently celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary, even though they had to do it in the hospital.

The scene took place bedside at the hospital when the grandchildren were surrounding Marcia’s bed. Arthur was brought into the room and fortunately, the entire event was recorded by Gabe Jacobs, their grandson. He is a filmmaker and the short video he made on this day is one that can touch your heart.

Gabe was asking his grandmother if she remembered Arthur, her husband. She is 100 years old and unfortunately, she has lost most of her ability to talk and understand what is going on around her. Even though they weren’t able to communicate with each other, her husband knew exactly what to do to get his wife’s attention. He took her hand and began talking to her.

It turns out that holding hands with Marcia was exactly what she needed. She attempted to speak but all she could say was hello. He continued to try, explaining that he loved her and told her that he had loved her for 80 years.

It was the University of Wisconsin that brought them together. They met when they were students and were married before World War II.

Although she was only able to say hello, it seemed as if she knew who was holding her hand. She brought them toward her, kissed them and showed by her actions that she knew what was taking place. Her husband told her that he missed her all the time.

Before long, she was falling asleep and the family was standing nearby. Later, this video was posted by Gabe to his YouTube channel. He simply wrote that his grandparents were incredible.

” “Arthur is still so much in love with Marcia, and he is so saddened by the fact that she can no longer communicate.”

He also mentioned that he is proud to be their grandson.
