Elvis Pressley Singing ‘How Great Thou Art’ In 1977

There are certain singers that will always have our attention, anytime we hear their songs playing on the radio. These singers have the voice that makes them great but they also have a style that helps us to really recognize them as something wonderful as well. Perhaps we can think of one of those artists right not. If you really think about it, I’m sure that Elvis will come up in your mind. When he was performing, he would thrill audiences with both his voice and his style and he continues to do so with his videos down to this day.

Elvis Presley passed from the scene over 4 decades ago on August 16, 1977. Up until shortly before he died, he was still performing and this video is from one of his final tours. He performed a lot of his own songs when he was on tour but this time, he also sang a classic hymn that many people consider to be one of the best things he has ever done. It is the song, ‘How Great Thou Art’ and we have a video of him performing it that will surely give you chills and goosebumps.

Although this performance took place long before we all had the internet in our homes, it didn’t stop it from going viral. When someone found the footage and posted it online, people started watching it and passing it along until it took on a life of its own. The song itself has touched many people through the years and hearing Elvis singing it is sure to bring back those feelings in a very special way.
