Young Girl Chooses A Difficult Song And Brings The Judges To Their Feet

Most of us are well aware of the fact that talent is not confined to one single part of the world. Even though that is the case, however, we often find ourselves watching the talent shows on television that are from our particular country. Those in America will watch America’s Got Talent and those in the UK might watch Britain’s Got Talent. When you really stop to think about it, however, the world is a very big place and if you are only looking in a very specific area, you are likely to miss something fantastic.

Amira Willighagen, a nine-year-old girl from the Netherlands did her part on a talent show but it wasn’t in the United States or Britain, it was Holland’s Got Talent. It took place back in 2013 and most people probably would’ve thought she was just another child that was trying to sing a pop song in front of the judges. When they sat down and she started singing, however, they got something that they weren’t expecting. She told them that she wasn’t going to do a pop song, she was going to do opera.

Most people would be surprised if a young girl would choose to sing opera. That being said, they were also very hopeful that this young girl would be the next rising star.

The judges were certainly surprised when one of them even told the girl that he thought she was going to do more of a child song. Amira had a very good reason for choosing opera, however, she thought that it was beautiful and soothing. The judges were already being set up for her success.

Within a few seconds of the song beginning, nobody could believe that there was such a large voice coming from a little girl. It was more than just power behind her music, it was a richly developed sound that many adults would be proud to possess.

Although the music and the singing were fantastic, the backstory is perhaps the most interesting part. Her brother had played the violin and she wanted to do something special for Queen’s Day.

She took her talent to YouTube and spent many hours looking through opera tutorials so she knew how to sing properly.

As you watch the video, you will see that her time spent on YouTube was obviously well worth it. Her rendition of Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro” had everybody stunned.
