It was a day like many other days for Bethany. She decided to take her four children to the beach and to have a nice, relaxing swim with the kids. The sunscreen was on, she was wearing her sunglasses and the children had on their water wings. It was a beautiful day out but even as she was playing in the water with her children, there was something sneaking up behind them and she had no idea it was coming. It was something that was going to change her life.
The family was swimming on a beach on Okinawa Island in southern Japan. Her husband was not with them. He is a US Air Force doctor, Capt. Hyrum Bronson and he was stationed nearby. He ended up going off to active duty in Afghanistan for six months and that is during the time that this video was recorded. He was going to be coming home in three weeks, so it wouldn’t be long before he would be joining them for these enjoyable swims.
They were swimming around in the water and a family friend was with them. He suggested that they should film a video and send it to the dad. He knew that the father would be home in a few weeks but he also knew a secret that nobody else knew.
As it turns out, the husband was scuba diving only a few feet away and he was getting closer and closer. When he comes up out of the water, the response of the family is too precious for words.
