Teen Gets Rejected To Homecoming Dance, Then A Stranger Shows Up And Mom Loses It

When you think back to your high school years, there were likely a few times that really defined your life as a teenager. Many of those times revolved around dances and one of the most important is the high school dance that is known as homecoming. You want this moment to be absolutely perfect and you may take a long time to work up the courage to ask somebody to the dance. When they say yes, it does wonders for your confidence but if they say no, it can be devastating.

Daniel is a 17-year-old boy and he was hoping to get the answer yes when he asked a girl to homecoming. Unfortunately, he was turned down by a number of different girls and it seemed as if he was going to either have to go stag or not go at all. Perhaps it is the reason why he was turned down that is the most devastating and that is the fact that he has Down syndrome.

Daniel was about ready to give up hope but then help came from out of the blue. Kylie is a 10th-grader and she asked Daniel to take her to the dance. She sees him for what he really is.

“I don’t think of kids that have a disability… I don’t think of them as being different,” She said. “I hope I can make his night fun.”

When Kylie did this, it absolutely shocked Daniel’s mom. Kylie didn’t ask him out of sympathy but rather, she truly wanted to go with him to the dance. “It’s not about that Daniel has a disability. Its Kylie didn’t see any disability. That is what your heart wants as a mom.”

When Fox5 surprise squad heard about what Kylie did, it became well-known in the area of eventually, across the nation. They showed up with a night full of surprises, leaving the mother in tears. Not only were they driven to the dance in a beautiful Rolls-Royce, they had other surprises waiting for them as well.
