This Teen Told Simon He Was Lonely So Simon Made Him A Promise If He ‘Sings Well’

Most of us have become accustomed to seeing fantastic talent. It seems as if, every day, there is someone new who is climbing the ladder of fame and doing so using one of the talent shows on the television. It doesn’t matter if they are dancing on Dancing with the Stars or doing a magic act on America’s got talent, there is always a rising star to follow. Every once in a while, however, somebody stands head and shoulders above the rest.

This teenage boy, Jeffrey, was standing on the stage of America’s got talent and he was facing the possibility of winning a $1 million prize. When the judges asked him what he would do with the money, Jeffrey said that he would buy a dog. He went on to admit that he was an only child and that he had been longing for a friend to call his own. This was just too much for Simon to take.

Simon made him an offer that was not only generous, it was unprecedented. He told him, “If you do well, I’m going to buy you a dog.” If that wasn’t enough, Simon even offered to go shopping with Jeffrey for his new fluffy friend. If this young lad wasn’t facing pressure before, he was certainly facing a lot of pressure now. It wasn’t time for him to be nervous, it was time for him to step up to the plate and win his prize.

Young Jeffrey sang a song that was originally done by Josh Groban. The song, You Raise Me Up, has been the source of goosebumps for many of us over the years. When Jeffrey sang it, however, it was goosebumps all over again. Not only was the audience amazed by his abilities, Simon was also amazed and all of the judges were impressed with what they were hearing.

Jeffrey was able to get by this round and on to the next round. In fact, the judges didn’t really even need to think twice about it. He also gets to pick out a puppy and Simon is going to pay for it. You can see his audition below and feel the emotion that he poured into the song he sang:
