16 Gravestones And Epitaphs That Show Death Can Not Stop Humor

It has often been said that there are two things that are absolute in this life; death and taxes. It doesn’t matter how hard we try, we’re going to have to face the reality of both. Taxes are one thing and nobody likes paying them but when it comes to dying, we certainly want to avoid that reality. I’m not trying to be morbid here, I’m just letting you know that we all have to face it sooner or later so we might as well face it with style. That is what these people did.

We tend to have a couple of different choices when we die. We can get cremated and live on the mantle somewhere or we can have them plant us in the ground and put up a grave marker. If you decide that you are going to go the latter route, then you can leave a little message for others on that marker that will let them know exactly how you feel. Sometimes it can be serious and at other times, you can give them a good laugh. Here are some people who decided to have the last laugh in some way or another.

1. Obviously, Mitchell is bitter and he wants everybody to know it.

2. Either Joel is bitter or dark but he might be a little bit of both. I wonder what his family thinks when they visit the grave?

3. James at least has a healthy view of things.

4. Epitaphs will sometimes have little tidbits of wisdom and sometimes, it is just reality.

5. Obviously, Samuel was dealing with some unusual circumstances but he got the last laugh twice.

6. Fred may not be a poet but not everybody knows it.

7. I would say Herman had a hard time with his wife.

8. What would you put on your tombstone if you were Merv Griffin? A little parting remark.

9. Cecil told the truth about his brother.

10. I love Rodney Dangerfield even more now.

11. Sounds like a nice way to go.

12. Could this be a fart joke?

13. This one is interesting if not creative.

14. At least she left something good behind.

15. Paranoid much?

16. Short and to the point.
