Mom Asks Rude Teens To Quiet Down And Days Later Hears From Their Mother

There are times when we may go out of our way to do something special and we never know how it is going to turn out until we actually do it. That was the case for this woman, who wanted to do something special for her daughter but her husband had just gotten laid off from his job. She knew that they wouldn’t be treating themselves anytime soon but she still wanted to do something special.

Rebecca Boyd wanted to make sure that her daughter saw the movie, Cinderella, so they went together to see it. When they sat down to enjoy the movie, however, a problem came up with the teenagers sitting behind them. They were being noisy and kicking the seats so Rebecca turned around and asked them to stop so she could enjoy the movie. They didn’t pay any attention to her but it is what happened after the movie that got the attention of the nation.

Rebecca Boyd went to a movie at Tannehill Premiere Cinema 14 in Bessemer, Alabama.

Rather than enjoying the night out with her 12-year-old daughter, she was annoyed because of the obnoxious teenagers sitting behind her. They were kicking their seats and being noisy so she asked them to be quiet, numerous times.

Instead of listening to her request, they were rude and continued with the noise. The mom spoke to the teens and told them how much their behavior was affecting her and her daughter.

The noisy girls’ big brother was with them and he told their mom how rude the girls had been. Rebecca had no idea how much of an impact it would have and what type of action this mother would take.

Kyesha Smith Wood is the girls’ mother and she couldn’t let what she heard go. She tracked Rebecca down through social media. She went on Facebook to find out who it was that told her 13-year-old daughter and her stepdaughter to be quiet.

“I can assure you that these girls are being strongly dealt with and appropriately punished. This rude, disrespectful, and awful behavior is unacceptable, and they owe you an apology,” Kyesha wrote in her public post.

“My husband and I are having them write your apology letter tonight and we would like to pay for your next movie and snacks out of their allowance. Please message me if this is you. I apologize profusely for their disrespect.”

Kyesha made sure that the message was posted publicly and it was also posted on a community news Facebook page. Even the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office posted it.

After the message went viral, it reached the person that it was intended to reach, Rebecca Boyd.

Apparently, the incident had the right effect on the girls.

“My girls are so mortified. They are humiliated. And, that’s okay because I told them, ‘You know what, you’re not going to do this again,’” Kyesha said, according to ABC.

She can’t say enough good about what Rebecca did and she’s thankful that she was forgiving. “She’s the most gracious, kind and forgiving woman. I am so humbled by that, and I’ve been telling people the real hero of the story is her,” she said.

“She took it upon herself to correct my girls and no one else around them did.”

Perhaps the most heartwarming part of the story is that the children have become good friends and are even eating meals together.

The mothers are bonded because of their belief in old-fashioned parenting. Sometimes it pays to call a child out when you see them doing something wrong. You can see more in this video:
