Monster Parents Lock Child In A Room And Starve Him

The news out of Kentucky is alarming, and it is a type of story that we hear all too often these days. The bottom line is, a couple has been accused of a crime and we hope they pay the price for it. The question is, however, are they paying the right price for the crime they committed? After all, they took their 12-year-old adopted son and punished him by means of torture. He would be locked in his bedroom all day long with only a bucket to use as a toilet and was basically starving to death.

When deputies went to inspect the house, they found it to be generally clean but the child’s room was horribly dirty and smelled. The Reynolds told the deputies that the smell was because the adopted son went to the bathroom on the floor. They could see that the wood floor was stained heavily but they said it was because they had removed the carpet that was previously there. Laura, the mother, said that the child would lock his own bedroom door and when they asked him if they had nailed his window shut with wood, they said they only did it because he tried to get out on an earlier occasion.

The arrest warrant shows that the boy only had a mattress in the room to himself. There was no boxspring and no bedframe. When the police investigated the situation, they found that he was neglected and malnourished and it was a case of improper and unlawful imprisonment.

Both of the parents are now being charged with criminal abuse, wanton endangerment, and unlawful imprisonment. They were able to get out on $10,000 cash bond, but people are up in arms about the fact that they were able to get out so easily.
