There is an old saying that ‘boys will be boys’ but that doesn’t always necessarily mean that they are doing the right thing when they are acting as such. In fact, there are many men who are not only rude, they are disrespectful when it comes to the way that they treat women. Although it may be common in many areas for this to happen, it’s never okay for it to take place. Most of these men would disrespect a stranger without thinking twice about it, but would they disrespect their mother? It’s highly doubtful that they would in a similar situation.
That fact was illustrated perfectly on a TV show out of Lima, Peru, back in 2015. The show selected two different mothers, both of whom have sons that have taken up the habit of catcalling. The plan was to do a social experiment that would not only be a lesson to their sons on the issues of sexual harassment, it was also going to be a lot of fun to watch. In order to take part in the project, the mothers were given makeovers and then they went out on the street to experience the bad behavior of their sons for themselves. There were hidden cameras set up everywhere to capture the men as they were doing what they do best (or is it worst?).
As the men were standing on the street, women were walking by and they were whistling after them. They were also making total jerks of themselves, with one calling his mother a ‘piggy’ and another calling ‘tasty panties’ after his mother. It was something that they do every day, but they obviously weren’t expecting what was coming up next.
When they did it to their mother, the mom would suddenly stop, turn around and remove their wig. The men would suddenly realize that they had gone too far and would begin to try to explain their way out of the situation. At that point, it was already too little, too late and they were humiliated by the perfect person to do it. You can watch it for yourself in the following video:
