Russian Miner Relaxes At Work By Taking Pics Of Foxes Above The Arctic Circle

There are certain parts of the world that all of us would probably enjoy visiting. It might include a tropical paradise, perhaps on a Caribbean island with beautiful, white sand beaches, palm trees and a warm breeze blowing constantly. The last place that we would probably think of as being paradise is the Chukotka region in the remote northeastern area of Russia. The environment in that area is brutal but one Russian photographer, Ivan Kislov is able to find the beauty in even that remote area.

He lives in the port city of Magadan but he works in Chukotka as a mining engineer. During his long shifts, he enjoys taking pictures of whatever he can find in the area. He enjoys going on “hikes to inaccessible places, rafting’s” or just walking around to “observe the wildlife.” He considers his photography to be a relaxing break from the routine. You will find he enjoys taking pictures of bears, reindeer, wolves and anything else in the area.

Perhaps his most notable collection of photographs is about foxes. He finds that they make the most interesting models because they are “curious and can come very close, and I shoot with wide angle and telephoto lenses.”
