Shelter Won’t Take Dogs So A Homeless Woman Stays On The Streets

When was the last time you had any interaction with the dog in your life? If you have a pet in your family, you probably can turn your eyes away from the computer or your mobile device for just a second and see them there, faithfully hanging out with you. It’s amazing what dogs can do for us because they provide us with unconditional love and everything that we could possibly need in a companion. Many of us will even talk to our dog, telling them our deepest secrets and all of our cares and concerns of the day. Yes, dogs are loyal, which is why it doesn’t surprise us when some humans show that loyalty in return.

Omar Camarillo is a photographer in Tijuana, Mexico who took a picture and shared it online that really has touched people’s hearts. It is not only because of the condition that the woman in the picture found herself in, it is the reason why she found herself in such a position. You see, the woman is homeless and living on the streets of Tijuana. In order to keep warm and dry, she wraps herself up inside garbage bags but she is not alone. She has six dogs that she cares for and they find themselves by her side constantly. Her name is Luz Maria Olmedo Beltran, although most people know her as Chloe. She is 65 years old and has been living on the streets for eight years.

When Chloe was approached by police officers, they wanted her to go to the shelter because of the cold weather that had reached that part of the world. Chloe refused to go, however, because she didn’t want to leave her dogs on the street. You see, they would not take her dogs at the shelter, so she would rather live on the streets with them than live in the shelter without them.

After posting this picture online, some kind people in the area went out and helped Chloe by providing her with water, food, blankets, and more. They even gave her items to care for dogs. It was a beautiful gesture and hopefully, one that lets her know that the world can be a beautiful place.
