There are certain things that all of us do every day, and we don’t really give it much thought. One of those is making a trip to the bathroom. We almost do it without really thinking anything about it but when we go to sit down, do we take a quick look behind us, or do we just trust that we are going to hit the seat nothing special is going to happen? It may seem like an unusual question, but it will not be quite as unusual when you see what happened in Thailand. Thanks to social media, we get a sneak peek at what came out of a toilet in Thailand and it’s enough to freak anybody out.
The Facebook page wanted to warn people about snakes that may be coming in through a toilet. It is the rainy season in Thailand, and it is not uncommon for snakes to try to find shelter indoors when it is pouring down rain outside. Unfortunately, they will do almost anything to get into the house and that may include crawling up through the pipes and coming out of the toilet. As you can see in the picture, it was a rather large snake that came in and this isn’t an isolated incident. In fact, just a couple of years ago, a snake came in through a toilet and bit a boy on his privates. I think that’s enough to make any of us turn around and check before we sit down from now on!
Although it may be a problem for snakes to come indoors through the toilet, there are some things that can be done to keep it from happening. We can put a net to prevent them from coming in, install a ventilation shaft on the roof, and inspecting lids and holes around sewers.
Perhaps the best thing that we can do, however, is just to give it a visual inspection before we decide to sit down. Between spiders and snakes, I don’t know if I’m ever going to sit on the toilet again!
