Farmer Provides VR Headsets To His Cows So They Give More Milk

More than likely, you have seen the commercials about happy cows. It shows them out in the field, standing among the flowers and having a beautiful time of it.

Of course, we all realize that is nothing more than fiction because cows do not live that type of life. In many cases, they have to be cooped up inside of the barn, standing in an enclosure and never having the opportunity to feel the sun on their back.

That doesn’t mean, however, that the farmers aren’t interested in making sure that the cows are as happy as possible. That fact is illustrated nicely when you see what a farmer from Turkey has done.

Izzet Kocak has given his bovine something that will put a smile on their faces. He wants to help reduce their anxiety so that they produce more milk. How does he do it? He has provided them with high-tech VR headsets.

You might think that this is a rather strange thing to do but it seems as if it is already working quite well. Two of his cows have the headsets that they wear on a daily basis and they have gone from producing 22 L of milk daily up to 27 L.

What would you give to a cow to make them feel this good? He says that they are seeing a green pasture and it helps to boost their emotions. It reduces their stress more than other things he has tried, such as playing classical music.

He is so happy with how this is working out that he decided to order another 10 of the VR headsets. In addition, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture is convinced that this works well.

Then again, they could always just let the cows wander around in the field during the day.
