As we grow older, it’s only natural for our hair to begin to change along with our bodies. At first, we notice a few grey hairs here and there, and before we know it our hair turns from grey to white. It’s all a part of the aging process.
In the past, many folks were embarrassed by their grey hair, however, more recently we’ve seen more celebrities like Dawn French embrace the grey. There’s been a growing call for more people to abandon dyes and makeup, and celebrities such as Andie Macdowell and Jane Fonda have championed this message.

But, one celebrity who’s not about to let her iconic jet black hair go quietly into the night is Cher.
Never Going Grey

The 75-year-old recently said in an interview with PEOPLE, that we will never see even one strand of grey hair on her head.
“[Going grey] is fine for other girls. I’m just not doing it!” she stated. [1]
Over the decades, Cher has earned a reputation for constantly reinventing herself, via fashion, makeup, and even her style of music. She’s also worn her hair in different styles, dying it different colors on several occasions, and even likes to wear a fun wig from time to time.
“There’s nothing wrong with my hair, but I love wigs, and always have,” she once told The Daily Mail. “They are so low maintenance. It just makes it easier to change my image.”

Because she’s constantly being photographed, Cher’s able to track the changes in her style over the years and says this record helps her decide what she wishes to try next.
“I don’t think there was a moment that I stepped outside of my house where I didn’t have a picture taken of me,” she explained. “It comes in handy now. But I liked all [my looks], really. And I made some [decisions] that were ridiculous, but I don’t care.”
She’ll Try Anything, But Grey Hair

And while she’s tried some pretty wild colors, grey is just not one Cher’s willing to ever get behind. And it’s not out of hate toward anyone who wishes to embrace their grey hair, but the singer says she would rather have pink hair than allow it to turn grey.
As she’s now in her mid-70s, Cher spins lots of time on her skin and hair care. In 2017, the singer shared a few of her favorite beauty products with PEOPLE, including Dr. Barbara Sturm’s face wash and eye cream, the Proactiv skincare line, and several Jan Marini products.

But, she says that she’s always trying new things to take better care of herself.
“My skincare routine is very eclectic,” she said at the time. “I don’t stick to one particular product, I just have things that I love from different people.”
