There are certain people whose names have become synonymous with comedy. Famous comedians such as Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin come to mind. When watching these great artists in action, they seem to have an inside view into all the little things in our lives that drive us nuts. We laugh because we relate so well to what they’re describing, which is why I personally believe that comedy is one of the unifying art forms which can bring people closer together through the miracle of laughter. It can be next to impossible to hate folks that you’re sharing a good laugh with.
A comedian who may not be as well known here in the states, but represents the same spirit of hilarious relatable comedy, is Michael McIntyre. He’s a comedian who really knows how to use his life as great source material for his art. You see, he’s married with children, and he has a very popular bit in which he explains how folks without children think they have an idea of what it’s like to live with kids. But as he brilliantly explains to those folks: “YOU HAVE NO IDEA.”
When you hear this routine, you’ll definitely have a good laugh, but if you’re a parent that laugh may be a bit harder and last just a bit longer. After all, he’s talking about our common morning routines and other goings-on within a household in which folks without children can’t even begin to fathom. But these are situations any person with a wife and kids will immediately relate to and may find funny beyond words.
