If there’s one thing we recognize about the world these days, it’s the fact that it has changed considerably over the past few weeks. It wasn’t all that long ago that we were going about our day-to-day lives and doing things in a way that most of us would have considered relatively normal. Today, we still go about our day-to-day lives but rather than being normal, it is something that we are dealing with that is now a new norm. Thanks to the coronavirus, social distancing and measures to help keep us safe, we find ourselves struggling just to make it from one day to the next. At times, what we need more than anything else is the opportunity to smile and perhaps to recognize that the world isn’t so bad after all.
The late-night talk shows have a way of keeping us entertained and even during this time of global crisis, they continue to be there for us in a wonderful way. This includes the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, which has been airing from Jimmy Fallon’s home since he went into isolation. The entertainment hasn’t stopped, but it has shifted gears. These days, Jimmy Fallon is tying in with celebrities virtually, his wife is doing the video and his kids are perhaps even bigger stars than he is. It even went to the next level recently when Blake Shelton and Gwen Stephani came onto the show.
Like many people, Blake Shelton was getting a little bit shaggy because of being in quarantine. That is when they decided to do something rather unusual, they gave him a quarantine haircut. It was Gwen Stephani who was holding the clippers, and she actually did a fairly good job of trimming his hair.
We need to improvise, especially now that we are spending most of our days indoors. This includes being cautious about the items that we use at home, including toilet paper and doing what we can to keep our sanity. It sometimes means that we have to sit and watch as many of the shows as possible, because it does help to keep us sane on a very basic level.
