I think that you would have to have been completely isolated on a desert island in the past decade in order to not realize who Ed Sheeran is. After all, it seems as if we are constantly hearing his music on the radio and we see videos of his posted online as well. When you really stop to think about it, Ed Sheeran is more than just somebody who entertains us with his voice, he also has worked his way into our lives and has even become a household name. Considering the fact that he has only been famous for around a decade makes it even more interesting, and it just goes to show the level of talent that he has at his disposal.
Ed Sheeran is a songwriter and he loves to sing his own songs but sometimes, he also honors other singers and songwriters by covering their music. That is what he did when he was in the studio back in 2012. He covered a Rihanna song, “We Found Love” and he did such a fantastic job of it, that over 5 million people have watched the video of him doing it since it was uploaded. It’s interesting to hear him cover the song from another artist. He doesn’t try to imitate the music but rather, he takes the lyrics and the music and he makes it his own. That is exactly what he does with this song, and we appreciate being able to hear it done in such a way.
Rihanna must’ve been thrilled to know that Ed Sheeran was going to be singing one of her songs. Perhaps she is even among the 5 million people who have listened to this video ever since it was uploaded! In any case, it’s something that really shows his appreciation for her music because he could’ve chosen any song he wanted.
