World’s Oldest Living Cat Just Turned 32

For those of us who have a beloved pet in our life, we couldn’t imagine living life without them. At the same time, however, we realize that an animal has a much shorter lifespan than humans, so there is going to come a day when we have to face the inevitable. It is one of the most difficult things that a pet owner has to go through in life and unfortunately, they sometimes have to go through it multiple times. Perhaps that is why this story is touching so many hearts, because it shows somebody who was able to share a long life with their beloved cats.

As a parent of a feline, the owner of Rubble couldn’t be happier. Not only is he a loving cat that shares a beautiful life with his owner, he also happens to be the oldest cat that is alive. In fact, he just celebrated his 32nd birthday and we couldn’t be happier for him and for those he shares his life with. In fact, it’s amazing to think that he has lived double and in some cases, even triple the lifespan of many felines!

A wildcat will live up to six years on average and for a cat that lives in a loving home, it isn’t unusual for them to live between 13 and 17 years. There are some that have lived a lot longer, however, including Rubble, who is celebrating his 32nd birthday.

You might think that it is just some type of fluke that Rubble would live this long. In fact, there are many cats that have lived beyond 30, including Nutmeg, Whiskey, and Scooter. There is also Cream Puff, who is thought to be the oldest cat in history, who lived to be at least 38 years old!

Rubble is now the oldest living cat (that we know of) in the world because he is about to turn 32 years old.

He is a Maine Coon cat, ginger-colored, and absolutely beautiful. He was born in May 1988.

Michelle Foster is the loving mom of Rubble, who has had him since she was 20.

Foster decided to adopt Rubble because she was living on her own. He was a kitten from her sister’s friend.

One of the reasons why he may have had such a long lifespan is because he has gotten so much love and attention from his human mom.

“If you care about something and someone and really love them, that goes a long way. I have always treated him like a child… If you care about something, no matter what it is, it does last,” she told Bored Panda.

Foster had another cat that lived to the age of 25 named Meg. She absolutely smothers her felines with affection, allowing them to live many years.

You may be wondering how Rubble is going to be spending his birthday. He doesn’t want to be surrounded by a lot of people because the stress would be a lot on a senior feline. He is going to celebrate his birthday at the veterinarian’s office, enjoying some Felix cat food and Whiskas cat milk.

As Rubble’s veterinarian, Dr. Shaun Moore has taken good care of him. He is in such good health that he is only taking some blood pressure medication. He got a month’s worth of medicine and a free checkup for his birthday.

For the most part, he is going to be celebrating in an environment free of stress.

“He is old now and would not like too much attention or be hassled,” Foster said.

“We would prefer if he was just left to live out his old age in peace,” Foster humbly suggested.
