Newborn Baby Abandoned In A Plastic Bag With A Maggot-Infested Head Wound
201
There is nothing quite as precious as a little baby and most parents are more than happy to care for that child, even getting outside of their comfort zone in order to do so. The unfortunate reality for many, however, is the fact that parents don’t have that natural love and they may even abandon the baby in the cruelest of manners. That was what happened in 2019 when a plastic bag was discovered tied to a coffee tree in the Lam Dong Province of Vietnam. A coffee farmer was walking by when he heard something and after searching, he found the baby inside a plastic bag.
The little baby had a head wound that was infested with maggots. She also had a severe sunburn from being outside for days and her body was bitten all over by mosquitoes. After they got the little girl to the hospital, she was diagnosed with a rare nervous system condition, known as hydranencephaly. It causes seizures, blindness, an enlarged head, paralysis, and fluid on the brain. Doctors felt that she wouldn’t live longer than another year but she was taken in by Hue Quang Pagoda. The Venerable Minh Tai is known for charity work and adopting the little girl after they saw she needed help.
Minh Tai admitted that her heart ached when she looked at the baby and saw how much she had suffered. She started to cry and couldn’t believe that any parent would be so cruel as to abandon such a precious little girl.
With the help of social media, she was able to raise $25,000 in donations. The child was also renamed Trieu Hoai An. They worked with her for weeks and she started to gain weight and get stronger. She is now described as a very lucky and beautiful little lady. Learn more in the following video:
