There are many different types of dance and we have been introduced to those styles in ways that we may never have even thought possible. Thanks to some of the television talent shows, such as Dancing with the Stars, we get to see those styles of dance up close and personal. Although we may still enjoy some of the newer styles that we see today, being introduced to some of the older styles certainly has its advantages. In fact, we may even find that we come to have an appreciation for all forms of dance, but there are certain types that have seen their time and have passed along. That includes tap dancing, something that very few people do these days but it takes an incredible amount of talent to do it.
The tap dancers in the following video are showing us just how much this style of dance belongs in our modern-day history. Rather than having to watch tap dancing on old movies, we can watch them and their rhythm as they are moving together in a very talented way. It’s a lot of fun to watch, and the rhythm that they display shows that there is a lot to this style of dance. In fact, there certainly is more than meets the eye. It is choreographed perfectly and each and every one of the dancers are passionate about what they are doing. When you put it all together, it’s an incredible thing to watch.
“Watching this video, seeing mixed race people, dancers from various ethnicities, female drummers, female and male dancers dancing together, it made me very emotional. 50 years ago, it would have been impossible,” comments one person on the YouTube video. “It’s good to see things are changing. Even if there are many battles to fight, it feels great to witness those beautiful changes.”
Although tap dancing may never have a place in the popular styles of dance today, it is something that is worthy for us to consider. It takes a lot of talent to be able to dance this way, and these talented individuals show us just what the style has to offer.
