Legendary Entertainer Dick Van Dyke, 95, Shares His Impressive Morning Workout

I’m in my 40s and sometimes I already feel old. After watching the video I just watched, however, I feel really guilty about that. Why? Because legendary entertainer Dick Van Dyke is 95 years old and he’s doing workouts every day and says, “All you old guys out there, listen to me: I’m still dancing.” The star of Mary Poppins shared his morning workout and it’s actually quite impressive. What’s more, as an actor, he’s still taking roles and considers his career to still be active. In fact, he’s set to appear in a film called “Capture the Flag” this year. The show is a comedy and he’s up for it.

He recently did an interview with CBS This Morning that happened to coincide with the Kennedy Center honoring him with a lifetime achievement award. In the interview, the icon shared details about the morning workout routine that keeps him moving and dancing. The filming took place in his Malibu backyard and includes footage of him going through some basic ab movements like leg raises, crunches, and more. He insists that no one should feel old. He says, “You can go on for a long time.” He added that he’s not only still dancing, but he’s still singing as well. The interview also touched on his role in the “Mary Poppins” sequel.

In the movie, Van Dyke took a challenging dance sequence. He was given the choice of three different versions, and he deliberately chose the hardest one to prove that he could do it. The entire interview is a valuable insight into how this man keeps himself active and healthy, and there’s a lot for most of us to learn by watching it. It’s also a lot of fun to see his memories of the early days of Hollywood. He says he’s looking forward to turning 100. I guess there’s definitely hope for me.
