I think all of us are going to question our decisions at some point in our lives. Perhaps we may question whether we are in the right career or we may even question if we made the right choice for dinner.
One thing that very few of us question, however, is our decision to have children. Sure, we may have moments where we wonder if we are the best mom or dad to our children, but we rarely ever take it back.
Perhaps that is why people are so surprised to hear about a mother who said that she was questioning the love that she had for her son. In fact, she was distraught because she felt that she would be the picture mother but now, she is not loving life very much.
She said: “I’m starting to even question if I love my son, because surely a mother that loves her children does not feel like this towards them. My days feel stressful and rushed. Nothing seems calm and I feel like I’m just not enjoying my life right now.”
She said that she works four days a week and her time is almost all used up with taking care of her son. She doesn’t get enough sleep because he only sleeps a few hours and when he is up, she is up.
In her words, she can’t get five minutes to herself and her son always wants to be with her. He even screams and cries when he doesn’t get his way.
She resists the urge to scream back at him but admits that she has days when she just doesn’t feel having him around. Perhaps the worst part is that she thinks that it is for his own good to leave him and only visit him occasionally.
She said: “I’ve given it some thought and think it could be better for both of us if he was to live with his Dad and I leave. I think a few times a week spending time with [him] will be better than him having to live with me the way I feel.”
Most people have come forward to support the woman and feel that she should get some help for her depressed mood. They feel that she should speak to her partner, saying how she is sleep-deprived and works long hours so there is no wonder why she is struggling.
In the end, the woman admits to being a bad mother and said that other parents hate her because she let her three-year-old son curse. She calls having her son the worst mistake of her life and admits that she hates it.
Let’s just hope she gets the help she needs.
