There are times when you may see something that touches your heart. There are also times when you feel a need to share it and it can touch the hearts of millions.
That is what is happening with the picture of a young boy the Philistines. It was taken by a medical student, Joyce Torrefranca as she was walking home late at night. She was so moved by the picture that she had to share it on Facebook.
The young boy is identified as nine-year-old Daniel and he is in third grade. Unlike many other young boys who are going through that part of their life, Daniel lives on the streets.
In fact, he only has one pencil because other students stole his second pencil from him. His father died in prison and the family home burned down, leaving Daniel living with his younger brother and mother in a food stall.
Even though Danny was going through difficulties, he continues to focus on his studies. It is something interesting to see, because many of the other children are busy playing while he is using the light from a restaurant to see the books he needs to read.
When Joyce noticed Daniel, she felt inspired by him and posted the photo online. It wasn’t long before the photo was being passed around and hundreds of people were even commenting on it, saying how much of a difference it made in their life.
Even Joyce said that she couldn’t believe that a simple photo would make such a big difference. They also used the viral fame to ensure that the child was able to reach his dreams.
Although Joyce was praised for sharing the story, she said that the real hero of the story is young Daniel. By his determination to continue with his studies, he inspired many people and continues to inspire them as the photo is passed around.
