That is the position a 17-year-old senior dog found herself in

It’s not unusual for dogs to have a difficult time when they are in a shelter. This is especially true for senior dogs, as they are usually the last to be adopted.

That is the position a 17-year-old senior dog found herself in when she was at a Fort Worth, Texas, shelter. That dog, Daisy, was brought in by her former owners, who wanted to have her put down.

Fortunately, the kind folks at Saving Hope Rescue thought twice and saved her from euthanasia. They wanted to give her an opportunity, but she now finds herself in need of a home.

The rescue went on Facebook, to say: “Meet Daisy! Daisy is 17 years old and was surrendered as a euthanasia request however that was DENIED and she has proven to still have some good life left in her. She is vetted and heartworm negative. She is trained to use potty pads. Daisy loves to go outside however only under close supervision due to her size and the fact that she is deaf. Daisy would do best in a home without small children however she is dog and cat friendly.”

Unfortunately, people often look at younger dogs and ignore the older dogs in the shelter. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with it. It’s just that Daisy would like an opportunity to have a forever home as well.

If you are interested in adopting Daisy or any other senior dog, there are plenty at your local shelter. They have a lot of love to give and are just waiting to share it.
