14-Year-Old Was Babysitting When Mom Receives This Frightening Text From The Locked Bathroom

Do you remember when babysitting was just a fun way to earn a few extra dollars? Like anything in this world, things have changed considerably. It’s still a great way to express your independence and make some extra money but as this 14-year-old girl can tell you, it is not as easy as it used to be. She was babysitting her four-year-old niece in Southern California when something most unexpected happened. By the time her evening was over, she was being called a hero.

It happened in East Los Angeles when Savannah was babysitting Zoyee, her little niece. It was about 3:30 in the afternoon, so nobody was really expecting trouble and when a knock came at the door, Samantha could’ve gone over and answered it without even thinking twice. Fortunately, she got suspicious. No visitors were expected and before long, the knocking grew louder. When savanna snuck up to the peephole and looked out, she saw a man that she had never seen before.

Without thinking twice, Samantha grabbed her little niece and the telephone. She ran into the bathroom just before the man kicked in the front door.

Savanna told a reporter that she was very scared. You can see it in the video below. She wasn’t necessarily afraid for her own safety but for her little niece.

This may seem dramatic coming from a young teenager but when you read the texts that she sent her mother, you will see that her concern was about the little girl’s safety.

Maria Muratalla is Savannah’s mother and she wasn’t able to get there quickly because she was stuck in traffic. When she read what was happening, she was absolutely panicked but safely, she knew what to do to help. She contacted a neighbor and had her call 911.

Savannah and her little niece were hiding in the bathroom. She could hear the man going through her mother’s belongings but she stayed calm and kept her niece quiet.

Thanks to this young girl’s quick thinking, he never did find them. You can see more in this video:
