When the big day arrives and a parent is due to go down to the hospital for the delivery of a baby, they often refer to it as a ‘little bundle of joy’. In some cases, it actually comes true that it is a little bundle of joy but in other cases, it may not be all that little. That was a case with this baby, and it was their bundle of joy, but it could actually be considered a big arrival.
When Chrissy and Larry Corbitt were getting ready for the big day for their family, it wasn’t something that was out of the ordinary. They had already had four children, so it really seemed like something rather normal for them. Of course, they were absolutely thrilled with the new arrival but something didn’t quite seem right. Everything seemed healthy enough but Chrissy’s belly was a lot bigger than what it should be. There was no doubt that it was larger than her other pregnancies.
At first, they were concerned that something was wrong with the baby but then they thought about the possibility that she could be having twins. After checking with the doctor, they found out that neither was the case and that it was just a perfectly healthy but rather large baby.
Chrissy gave birth via C-section because that is what typically takes place in the birth of such a large child. What they weren’t expecting, however, is a child that was quite this large. Chrissy says that when she first saw the baby it resembled a toddler, not a newborn. She even joked, saying “When they held her around the curtain for me I just couldn’t believe how big she was. I felt like I was looking at a toddler, I was like oh my God, she’s gonna walk to the nursery.”
Their baby girl was named Carleigh and many of the medical staff said that they had never seen a baby so large. The doctors thought that she was probably about a 10 pound baby but when she was weighed, she was 13 lbs. 5 oz.
She wasn’t able to fit the baby diapers and all of the clothes that her parents had ready for her. They had to make a shopping trip to buy clothes for a nine-month-old child.
Regardless of how large she is, we are happy to announce that she is healthy, happy and part of a great family.
