Biker Gang Breaks Apart Dog Fighting Rings and Rescues Animals from Violent Owners

When you think about a biker gang, what’s the first image that comes to mind? Many people think of rough men (and sometimes women) who are loud, obnoxious, and sometimes even violent. They’re usually big guys with a lot of tattoos who aren’t afraid of facing down trouble when they have to. Many biker gangs may fit the stereotype, but there are a few that don’t. You can’t judge a book by its cover and we hear stories all the time about a biker gang that helps veterans or sick kids or other worthy causes like that. It really breaks down barriers and reminds us that they’re just human beings, after all.

A biker gang called Rescue Ink is doing something completely different. They’re going after the bullies. Specifically, the bikers in this gang have a soft heart for animals and they’re doing everything they can to stop people who bully vulnerable and helpless animals. Like most bikers, they ride big bikes and have plenty of tattoos. They’re even a little mean-looking, maybe. However, these gentlemen are determined to save animals that are being mistreated and abused. The gang has men who are full-time bikers, veterans, weightlifters, former police officers, and even lawyers.

They’re a bit of a ragtag bunch and they have a specific purpose. When they see an animal that’s being abused or they hear about abuse, they are quick to step up and handle it. Another important thing they do is stop dog fight rings by directly breaking them up. They’re best known for rescuing dogs, but they also have been known to help cats, horses, pigs, chickens, and even fish. Once they even rescued a boa constrictor. First, they do research to make sure an animal is really being abused, then they step in and take the animal for rehabilitation. Their mission statement says: “Rescue Ink does whatever necessary within the means of the law — that’s what our lawyers tell us to say — to fight abuse and neglect of all kinds.”

They add that while some people think of them as superheroes, the truth is they’re just animal lovers (and protectors). “Through the years, and through many caseloads, obstacles, and downright challenges, we remain strong and dedicated to our mission.” They’ve broken up illegal dog fighting rings and they received about 250 calls a day to help animals.
