There is something I think all cat owners would agree on, and that’s the fact that there is nothing in the world quite like the feline that is in their lives. When you bring them into your family, they are a pet at first but it only takes a short amount of time before they become a full-fledged member of the family. They wrap themselves around your heart and before you know it, you are powerless to do anything but take care of them in the best way possible.
I’m sure that is how Ben Vroomans felt when two years ago, he adopted an adorable cat named Frank. He knew that he had a few quirks, because he didn’t enjoy being held or touched but it wasn’t long before the cat came out of his shell and turned into one of the funniest, sweetest cats that he has ever known. He told The Dodo: “Over the last couple of years we learnt to know each other, and he’s now got the biggest personality. Still can’t pick the bloke up, but he’s otherwise super affectionate now. Follows me everywhere. He’s my noisy little shadow, and a bit of a celebrity amongst my social group.”
Some cats love to play with toys but Frank just never had the same interest. One thing that he does love, however, are cardboard couches. He had such a couch and when it started to get worn, his human parents were concerned about getting a new one. Rather than getting him a couch, however, they found a cardboard Jeep! They were afraid that he wouldn’t like it because it did look like a toy but they gave it a try.
“He’s not a ‘toy’ cat,” Vroomans said. “He acts like he’s beyond childish things like that.”
They gave him the Jeep and stood by to hope for the best.
He loved it!
“He loves the crap out of this thing,” Vroomans said. “Can’t get him out of it.”
Nobody knows why but Frank loves the Jeep with all of his heart and he spends the entire day inside of it. He’s obsessed with it, which is funny enough but considering that the Jeep only cost them eight dollars, it was worth every penny and more.
Even though Frank may not love toys, his parents have found him many gifts that he loves. Frank is one happy cat!
