It doesn’t matter who we are, we are likely to have a hero in life. Many of us have had a hero since we were very young and in some cases, it is a real person but in others, it is a celebrity or perhaps a sports hero. It seems as if it is not only something that humans are able to experience, dogs can experience it as well. For a service dog named Nala, the hero comes in the form of a fake Disney character. In fact, the dog goes frequently with his mother to Disney World and they enjoy the time together.
“Nala and I have been to Disney more days than I can count,” Megan Leigh, Nala’s mom, told The Dodo. “She has stepped foot (or paw) into a Disney park at least 50 separate times.” They do all kinds of things when they are at Disney, including walking around, riding bikes and especially meeting the characters. Every time Nala meets a new character, she brightens up and they are very special moments to watch.
Nala and her mother went to meet Donald Duck on a recent trip. As soon as the dog approached the giant character, she decided she was feeling extra cuddly.
“The moment Nala walked up to meet Donald, crowds surrounded and watched in awe,” Leigh said.
Nala did something nobody expected. She put her head on Donald’s lap and wouldn’t move.
Donald couldn’t believe it either and he put his hands in his face, showing just how overwhelmed he was with the love Nala was giving him. He then gave the dog a lot of kisses.
Nala was happy to give some kisses of her own.
Everybody who saw it in person couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the day. They were surprised with how much Nala loved Donald and how the dog would’ve stayed with the character all day.
“Nala did not want to leave Donald at all,” Leigh said. “She loves him a lot!”
Eventually, they had to go but there were plenty of pictures taken before they parted ways. Nobody wanted to forget this visit and they look forward to the time when they are back at Disney again to enjoy another snuggle.
