Get Ready To Be As Happy As A Quokka

I think that all of us appreciate animals for our own reasons. In some cases, it is because they curl up against us after we found a difficult day. At other times, it’s just because they are adorable.

Most people would probably say that the dog or cat that shares their home is the cutest animal on the planet. Those are also probably people who have never met a Quokka before. When you see them, you can’t help but smile.

Looking at the picture, you can tell that it isn’t only you that is smiling, it is the creature that is smiling as well. In fact, the Quokka is probably the happiest creature you will ever meet in your lifetime.

Of course, most people are not going to run into a Quokka in their backyard. They are found on a remote island in Australia, which makes sense because they share family lines with a kangaroo.

If you look hard enough, you may even see that they share somewhat of a resemblance with their hoppy friends. According to locals, the Quokka does sometimes get into people’s trash and they can be a nuisance around campsites.

Then again, if something this adorable came into your campsite, you probably couldn’t help but smile. Even so, it’s probably a good idea to cover your garbage if one of these critters is around.

It isn’t only the cute face that people appreciate, it’s the fact that they are photogenic. When it comes to selfies, it is difficult to resist the temptation to snap a picture or two.

Then again, if you are close enough to get a picture with one of these animals, the authorities do tell you not to feed or touch them. After all, they are wild animals and we want to keep them from getting hurt.

It isn’t only that, but if you happen to get caught touching a Quokka, you could be handing out $300 for a fine. That is, of course, if they don’t scratch you with their sharp claws. They may smile, but they aren’t afraid to defend themselves.
