When you have a cat in your life, you are willing to do almost anything to keep them happy. The problem is, many cats are difficult to please and sometimes, they are downright finicky. That is especially true when they come across something that is not familiar to them. They may have their eye on something but once they make their mind up, they are either going to reject or accept what is in front of them.
This is been a real frustration for many cat owners who were left wondering why they spent so much time doing things for their feline friend. Of course, we all realize that those attempts to make our cats happy may fall a little bit short of the mark, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It doesn’t matter what how they react or what they enjoy about the things that we do, it’s out of the love that we do them.
One man who perhaps forgot about this unusual behavior of many felines got reminded in the funniest way possible. His cat, Philo liked to do outdoors but he also wanted to come in when he wanted inside. That is when Brian, his owner, went to the store and picked up a small door to make his little feline friend’s life a little bit easier. He installed the door and got ready to watch his beloved cat use it.
This wasn’t a small project. It took a couple of hours to get the door installed properly but now he knew that things were finally looking up. He grabbed his camera and encouraged Philo to use the door for the first time.
The problem is, Philo was not really interested in checking out the new contraption. He just wandered right by it and checks it out a little but couldn’t care less. He decided that he was going to use the regular door rather than the new, smaller pet door. He stands on his hind legs and uses his front paws to pull the handle and open the door from the outside. Soon he is in and leaving Brian wondering why he had spent so much time on the door that day.
Philo is smarter than what he was given credit for. He already knew how to open one door, having a second door was really redundant in his eyes.
