Having a dog in your family is an absolute treat. It seems as if they bring so much to the household that we could never even hope to give close to that much back again. Of course, you don’t have to have a dog in your family to appreciate what they have to offer. Even a strange dog that is seen under the right conditions can be an absolute treat and some people will never give up the opportunity to say hello to a furry friend.
Jan Mart Calimpong is more aware of this situation than most people. After all, he was at a local mall when something unusual happened and the mall security took it in stride. A stray dog managed to make it through the front doors and, rather than running around acting crazy, the dog simply went over and laid down in the middle of the walkway. He admitted to The DoDo that it was unusual, because it seemed like the dog just wanted some attention. Thankfully for this pooch, attention was exactly what was heading in his direction. When Calimpong saw mall security headed to the area, he decided he would take some video. I’m sure that he was expecting the security guard to usher the dog out quickly but rather, he gave the dog a friendly scratch before taking him out of the area. Calimpong admitted that he treated the dog like a pet and the dog was even wagging his tail.
Perhaps the most interesting part is that the dog was not ejected from the mall. In fact, management found out about the dog and offered him a job. Now, ‘Dogdog’ is an unofficial member of the security team at the mall. Mall officials said: “We are continuously building a culture of inclusiveness where humans and animals, like Dogdog, come together and help each other.” I think that DogDog loves his new job.
