The World’s Oldest Cat Is Now 32 Years Young

Anyone who has ever had a cat in their life already realizes just how special they can be. There has always been the argument about cat people versus dog people, but it seems as if felines just seem to end up at the top of the heap, especially for those who have one in their household. The unfortunate part about owning a pet is the fact that they don’t have long life spans and often, we have to experience the pain of losing a beloved pet far too often in life. For a cat, living in the wild means living about six years and if they are fortunate enough to have a family, they may live up to 17 years.

Just because the average lifespan of a house cat is up to 17 years does not mean that that is the upper end of their life. That is where Rubble comes in, a cat that is now the world’s oldest living feline. Rubble just celebrated another birthday and is now 32 years old. The ginger Maine Coon cat was born in 1988 and has been a part of the family for many years. Surprisingly, Rubble is not the first cat to have lived over 30 years. A number of other cats have also had long life spans with Cream Puff being the one that holds the record at 38 years of age. Rubble has a ways to go, but you just never know what could happen.

Michelle Foster is the mother of Rubble and she had this beautiful feline since she was 20. When her sister’s friend had a litter of kittens, Rubble came into her life. She was feeling lonely at the time and decided that having a cat was the right thing to do. Perhaps this cat has live so long because he has been showered with a lot of love.
