In March, Australian wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin gave birth to the first grandchild of Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin, who died several years ago. Bindi’s baby girl was born on March 25th, and Bindi made a much-celebrated social media post about the birth of her baby. Irwin, 22, and her husband, Chandler Powell, were married exactly a year prior to the birth of their baby. The baby was born on their first wedding anniversary. After the baby was born, Bindi shared her baby’s name and the meaning behind it. She and Chandler named their baby girl “Grace Warrior Irwin Powell and the name honors Bindi’s late father.
In an Instagram post at the time, Bindi explained that they named the baby Grace because she is their “graceful warrior” and the name is a family name on both sides of the family. However, the baby’s middle names are a tribute to Bindi’s late father and his incredible legacy as the “most incredible Wildlife Warrior.” Last week, Bindi took to Instagram again to show a remarkable painting of her entire family. To the surprise and delight of fans, Steve himself is painted into the hyperrealistic painting. Bindi explained that on her first Mother’s Day, she asked an artist named “The Monkey Brush” to bring the family to life.
The painting also included shots of Chandler’s family. In the center of the first photo, Steve Irwin is featured in the center looking completely delighted to be holding his first grandchild. On his side is his wife, Terri, and their son, along with Bindi and Chancler on the other side. The artist, “The Monkey Brush,” is Debb Oliver, according to My Modern Met. She explained that when working on a commissioned piece, she likes to imagine what it means to whoever is going to receive it.
