There are plenty of performers that most people would love to see and hear in a live performance. Some of them have already gone from the scene, such as Elvis Presley or Freddie Mercury. Others, however, are still putting shows on regularly and they are performing just as much as they ever did. This includes some relative newcomers to the scene, such as Kelly Clarkson. She has a fan base that really loves everything that she does and like any performer, she also has those that are rather critical of her as an individual. One thing that they can’t fault, however, is her ability to sing and the fact that she knows her music inside out.
Her ability to perform in a unique way was put to the test recently when she appeared on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. It happened a couple of years ago and she was discussing her hit single, “Since You Been Gone”. I think that most of us can appreciate the fact that she is a very talented person and when we hear her singing that song, we know that it is something that comes from her heart. Jimmy Fallon, however, in his true fashion, wanted her to do something unusual with her music. Rather than simply having her sing a song, he wanted her to sing that song backwards.
When Kelly Clarkson stood up and took the microphone, I’m sure that Jimmy Fallon was not necessarily expecting her to pull it off. What she was able to do, however, showed that she loves music and knew her song better than anyone else.
When you are a singer and you are performing dozens of solos on stage, it can sometimes be difficult to remember all of the words. More than one singer has forgotten the words along the way and they often have teleprompters that help them stay on track. After seeing this episode of the Tonight Show, I doubt that Kelly Clarkson needs much assistance at all. See it for yourself below.
