If you happen to travel on the subway very often, you realize that you never quite know what you are going to see you while you are there. This is especially true in some of the busier subway systems, such as those in New York City. It isn’t only the things that you may see while you are actually in the subway car, it’s also what you might see on the outside. That includes some things that you enjoy seeing, such as performers that enjoy sharing their music with others.
Often, people may hurry by these performers and don’t really give them much attention. It just tends to be noise that settles into the background and is filtered out. Every once in awhile, however, there is somebody who really stands out when it comes to a subway performance. They may not be singing for thousands of people in a packed out stadium but what they do is to provide people with entertainment, even if only for a moment as they are hurrying by. That is what happened in 2016 when a man sang a song that caught the attention of those who were walking by and even has captured the attention of millions of people online.
The man who was singing in the video below is Mike Yung. At the time, he wasn’t well known but since the video of him singing in the New York City subway was uploaded to YouTube, it has received the attention of millions of people who absolutely love to hear him sing. Even people who were busy and trying to rush from one task to another stopped long enough to hear his voice and perhaps even to give him a dollar.
Since the time that this video was uploaded, he has had the opportunity to sing for a worldwide audience. He is now a musician that is gaining more and more attention and it all started with a simple song that he sung in the subway. Eventually, he sang on America’s got talent and as they say, the rest is history.
