Technology has changed our lives in so many different ways that it is difficult to know exactly what has affected us the most. It wasn’t all that long ago that we were living without computers and smartphones and we seemed to get along just fine. Today, however, technology is moving at such a fast speed that it seems there are changes taking place each and every day. Even if you feel as if you’re up-to-date, you will be behind the times if you don’t continue moving forward within just a few months.
One of the earlier forms of technology was the VCR. I can remember going to my parent’s house when I was younger and helping them to program their VCR regularly. Everybody thought that it was funny but today, the generation that was helping their parents with the VCR is needing some assistance with communicating. After all, we no longer communicate verbally or through letters, we send text messages, emails, and instant messages through our social media accounts. It’s a different way of communicating, but it still is possible to get your point across.
The generation gap seems to be closing to a certain extent. Sure, children today do understand technology to a large extent better than their parents but that doesn’t mean that the parents can’t get an upper hand. You can see it clearly in these text messages, where parents are still as witty as ever.
