We are people who tend to believe what is in front of them. For the most part, we don’t have any reason why we would ignore what we see. Most of the information we take in from the world around us comes in through our sense of sight. Our brain works overtime to keep up with all of the images it is presented on an ongoing basis and when we see it, we believe it. That isn’t to say, however, that there aren’t times when we might not be seeing what we think we see. That is the case in the following story with a picture included.
Sisters Mary Catherine, Maria Theresa, Katherine Marie, Rose Frances, and Mary Kathleen left the convent on a trip to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and were sight-seeing on a Tuesday in July.
It was hot and humid in town and their traditional garb was making them so uncomfortable, they decided to stop in at Patty McGuire’s Pub for a cold soft drink.
Patty had recently added special legs to his barstools, which were the talk of the fashionable eastside neighborhood. All 5 nuns sat up at the bar and were enjoying their Cokes when Monsignore Riley and Father McGinty entered the bar through the front door.
They, too, came for a cold drink. They were shocked and almost fainted at what they saw.
