There are two types of people in this world, those who enjoy scaring other people and those who hate being scared by someone. In some cases, there is a definite crossover between those two types of people. Although they may enjoy jumping out and frightening somebody and I’ll be the first one to admit it does give you a good laugh, they don’t necessarily take it as well. Perhaps it’s because they understand the sensation that they are trying to create but in any case, it can either be funny or it can be frustrating. When Ellen is behind it, you can expect it to be funny.
There are often things that happen backstage during the show that most people are not privy to. We’d like to think that we knew what was going on backstage but in reality, it is just hidden from human eyes. Thanks to some well-placed cameras, you get an opportunity to see backstage at an Ellen show when she recruits a Jack-in-the-Box to scare people who were visiting and the celebrity guests that were coming on to her show. As those unsuspecting people walked through the backstage area, the Jack-in-the-Box would suddenly spring out of a container and scare them half to death. I can only imagine that the people who were frightened were not very happy about it but it’s absolutely hilarious to watch it happen on video.
If you have ever tried to frighten somebody and they got offended, then you certainly are not alone. Nobody really likes to feel that fear and have their heart jump out of their chest but that doesn’t stop some people from scaring you without really considering the backlash.
Ellen is one of those people that can just seem to get away with this. Sure, the people who were frightened were not very happy but, in the end, they were able to laugh at themselves when they saw the video. You can watch it for yourself below.
